Circle of
Security Parenting

Building a secure attachment and deeper connection with your child.

Parenting doesn't come with a manual

Parenting can be rewarding, challenging and sometimes overwhelming. There are moments when understanding what your child needs, or knowing how best to respond, isn't always easy.

Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) is an evidence-informed parenting program that helps parents and caregivers better understand their child's emotional needs, strengthen their relationship and build a greater sense of security and connection.

What is Circle of Security Parenting?

Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) is an eight-session parenting program designed to help parents and caregivers understand their children's emotional needs and strengthen their relationships.

The program explores how children look to their caregivers for support as they explore the world and seek comfort, reassurance and connection.

Through guided discussions, practical examples and opportunities for reflection, parents can develop a greater understanding of their child's behaviour and how their own responses can support a secure relationship.

COS-P isn't about being a perfect parent. It's about recognising your child's needs, understanding the relationship you share and learning ways to respond with greater confidence and compassion.

What will you learn through COS-P?

Understanding your child's emotional needs

Learn to recognise what your child may be communicating through their behaviour and how their needs change as they explore the world and seek comfort.

Recognising when your child needs support

Develop a greater awareness of when your child needs encouragement to explore and when they need reassurance, comfort or connection.

Responding to challenging moments

Explore how your own emotions and responses can influence interactions with your child, particularly during difficult or overwhelming moments.

Strengthening your relationship

Build confidence in responding to your child's needs and supporting a secure, trusting parent-child relationship.

Who is Circle of Security Parenting for?

Circle of Security Parenting is designed for parents and caregivers who want to better understand their children's emotional needs and strengthen their relationship with them.

You don't need to be experiencing parenting difficulties to benefit from the program. Whether you're navigating challenging behaviours, finding it difficult to understand your child's reactions, or simply wanting to build a stronger connection, COS-P offers an opportunity to reflect, learn and grow.

The program focuses on understanding your child's needs rather than striving to be a perfect parent.
